Cajun Invasion was ready for their first race of the season which took place on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain on the Tchefuncte River. Thank goodness for the team logo doo rags because it was quite windy on and off the water.  The setting was beautiful for dragon boating and we enjoyed sharing a tent with Barrie's Ribbons of Hope, a breast cancer team from Barrie, Canada.  It was wonderful having friends and family share the day with us as we Paddled for a Cure to help raise awareness about breast cancer.

The races were very tight and competitive. We competed in three 400m races as well as participating in the Survivor Ceremony.  Cajun Invasion paddlers left it all on the river coming out 2nd Place in the Division A Championship Final.  That finish qualified us for 50% off the entry fee to the GWN race at Disney World in Orlando, FL this October.

It was a glorious day to be outside enjoying life!
